May 04, 2025

During his debate with then-Vice President Kamala Harris last September, President Donald Trump said that he had never read Project 2025 — a conservative thinktank’s over 900-page plan to reorganise and reshape the United States in 180 days.

Nor, Trump said, did he have any plan to read it. While both of those things are almost certainly true (because again — it’s 922-pages long), a detailed review of the document itself suggests that someone working for him has certainly read it. Trump’s first months in office were marked by a constant stream of actions that correspond directly to suggestions made by Project 2025 — cut off funding for USAID, stop collecting data on transgender Americans, remove protections for pregnant women against discrimination in the healthcare system. Of the more than 300 objectives identified by the open source Project 2025 Tracker, the administration had completed roughly a third by the president’s 100th day in office. Here are some of the things he’s accomplished and some of the things that are likely to come next in the Project 2025 agenda...

Resale apps and fast fashion endanger charity shops

Some people take drugs. Others go bungee jumping. I get my highs from scoring charity shop bargains. Ever since I was a teenager in Edinburgh, mooching around Stockbridge for secondhand gear that wouldn't bust my allowance, one of my favourite hobbies has been to dive into the rails and hunt for diamonds in the rough.

Ima hungry piranha and you know what that means. Yes, I'm longing for a really good piece of fruit: acui berries, or maybe aguaje. Not much about right now: the rainy season won't be here for a good few weeks yet and I'll have to make do with plants, Plus a bit of flesh, of course.
