UDF files graft plaint over Koz town hall renovation

THE Kozhikode Corporation UDF Council Party has lodged a complaint with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Superintendent, demanding an investigation into alleged irregularities and corruption in the renovation of the town hall.
Despite the project being allocated five months for completion, the renovation work has reportedly been done in a substandard manner, with the UDF also alleging a lack of proper supervision.
"The entire responsibility for the project was entrusted to the well-known ULCC contractors. The same firm was awarded the contract for renovating the Kozhikode Corporation office building at an initial cost of ₹9 crore, which later escalated to ₹19 crore, raising concerns," said UDF Council Party leader K C Sobhita.
