'Why I've put Jesmond Towers on the market'
The Journal
|June 06, 2025
THE businessman owner of Newcastle's mansion believed to be the North East's most expensive home has revealed why he is putting it up for sale.
Jeff Winn bought the exclusive property Jesmond Towers in 2013, and has since invested more than £14m into turning it into the lavish estate it is today.
The house boasts four floors of luxury living, with around 50 rooms, as well as a roof terrace, cultivated grounds and gardens and two detached lodges.
It is thought to be the most expensive property ever put up for sale in Newcastle and has gone up for sale just a week after it was revealed he is stepping back from the company he founded, legal claims firm Winn Group.
Winn Group, which was launched in Byker 23 years ago, has seen huge growth over the last 12 years, fuelled by a partnership formed with international investment companies JZ International (JZI) and Souter Investment Group.
The deal allowed Winn Group to target bigger contracts and vastly expand its one-stop shop for accident management services nationally. At the time, Winn Group had 290 employees but that number has more than doubled at its Byker base.
