Amine Adli and Tyler Adams put the visitors in a commanding position in the game for the visitors but Sunderland continued to press in response.

They got back into the game through a contentious penalty decision and Enzo Le Fée scored from the spot. Bertrand Traoré and Brian Brobbey completed the comeback in the second half, and Ballard praised his teammates for their response to a frustrating start.
