Tragedy as man and boy killed in road crash

A MAN and a boy have died following a collision in South Shields.
Shortly after 8.55pm on Saturday, Northumbria Police received a report of a one-vehicle collision on John Reid Road, near the New Mill Inn.
For reasons yet to be established, a white Skoda Octavia came off the road.
John Reid Road remained closed in both directions yesterday as investigations got under way and officers carried out enquiries. Police also cordoned off Brockley Avenue, an adjacent residential area.
