Tech firm toasts £13.4m deal

COUNTY Durham tech firm Filtronic is toasting success after sealing a £13.4m defence deal.
The NETPark company, which designs and manufactures advanced RF solutions for the space, aerospace and defence, and telecoms infrastructure markets, has announced a new contract award to supply high performance modules for an electronic sensor system.
Directors said the transaction has been awarded for “the complex manufacture and testing of critical components”.
Delivery is expected to start in the middle of next year and the modules will be built and tested at Filtronic’s new hybrid microelectronics facility in Sedgefield.
