Murder accused had been on a four-day 'sesh'

- By ESTHER HALLIGAN Reporter

ONE of the six accused of murdering Jordan Hogg told a court he'd been "out on a sesh for days, smoking crack cocaine" before his arrest.

Michael Charville, 43, said he was homeless at the time of the alleged murder, and living in his combi van.

When the police showed him CCTV footage of his van driving to Jordan Hogg's home on the night he died Charville said it must have been stolen while he was sleeping off the affects of drink and drugs at somebody else's home.

Charville along with four other men and a teenage boy, deny murder. Jordan Hogg died outside his neighbour's home, metres from his own flat on Fonteyn Court in Hemlington, on the night of February 28.

He had a deep slash wound to his neck, and CCTV captured Mr Hogg knocking at his neighbour's door for help, before he collapsed. Mr Hogg, who was 28 and worked as a rigger, died from blood loss.

The trial previously heard that his ground floor flat had blood stains on the carpet, sofa and white walls.

On Friday, the jury at Newcastle Crown Court listened as the dialogue between Charville and the detectives questioning him, was read out.
