Conway miss proves costly as late double ends fightback
The Gazette

TOMMY Conway's miss proved costly as Coventry City scored two late goals to end Middlesbrough's fightback and move themselves ten points clear at the top of the Championship.
Thomas scores an own goal past keeper Carl Rushworth to make it 2-2 Tommy Conway after missing a chance to put Boro 3-2 up
A cruel defeat for Boro with new head coach Kim Hellberg watching on in the stands, they looked like the side most likely to win it after fighting from two goals behind to be level just four minutes into the second half.
Morgan Whittaker got Boro's first before a Bobby Thomas own goal cancelled out Ellis Simms and Liam Kitching goals.
But despite Boro's second-half momentum, and that glaring Conway chance to win it, the same Sky Blues scored again twice in the final five minutes of the game to send the visitors home with all three points and good lead at the top of the Championship.
Though Hellberg was appointed on Monday, he took a watching brief for this one after being introduced to supporters ahead of the game. Adi Viveash once again led the team and made two changes as Matt Targett and Delano Burgzorg missed out, with Sammy Silvera and Riley McGree in. It was a tactical change too, with Boro reverting to a back three.
Already raucous after welcoming Hellberg onto the pitch, Boro fans were liking the early signs of their side's performance. Boro flew out of the traps and had a couple of nearly moments in the first 10 minutes.
