MCH performs first major surgery after eight years

The Mandaue City Hospital (MCH) has achieved a milestone after successfully performing its first major operation since the facility’s renovation eight years ago.

The emergency caesarean section, conducted last Monday, September 22, signaled a new era for the hospital and reaffirmed its capacity to deliver critical medical services to the community.

Hospital representatives credited the breakthrough to the recent purchase of the facility’s first Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), which ensured uninterrupted power during the procedure. The P1.4 million equipment serves as a crucial safeguard for emergency surgeries.

“Finally ato nang gi-expedite, nalipay sad ta nga makabuhat na ana ang Mandaue City Hospital despite nga limited tawn ang facility,” Mayor Jonkie Ouano said in an interview yesterday.

The mayor said the ATS was among the items on the hospital’s wishlist during his first visit in July, when he toured its departments and offices.
