Taiwan is about to be repossessed by China if Japan makes a preemptive move.

- Atty. Josephus B. Jimenez

And if Japan and South Korea don’t watch their flanks, they maybe be encircled by China, Russia, and North Korea. If that happens, the U.S. can only rely on the Philippines as its most loyal and long-term comrade in the Asia-Pacific.So while Trump is invoking the Monroe Doctrine to justify its illegal intrusion into Venezuela, and before it can snatch Greenland from Denmark, he better watch attentively China's moves. Not because Americans love the Filipinos, rather, but because the Philippines has the most strategic advantage geographically, more than Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. It’s not about ideology, historical ties, or geopolitics. It's all about the balance of power in this region. The bone of contention is strategic supremacy in geopolitics.

It’s crucial America keeps the Philippines in its axis because this nation is China's most accessible gateway to the Pacific and the strait between Batanes and Taiwan is America's front door to the South China Sea. Whoever controls that commands an advantage against its rivals in trade and commerce and its enemies during war. If the Philippines becomes a vassal of China, then America loses a crucial passage and could tilt the balance of power in favor of Beijing and Moscow too.
