CBRT dry run pushes through on Sept. 15

Even with the change in leadership at the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the dry run for the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) project will still push through on September 15, 2025.

This was confirmed by Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival in an interview yesterday, September 4. He said he wants the dry run to take place before the official commencement of Package 1 on September 25, 2025.

“Kay naa man gud tay bisita nga moanhi gikan sa Manila kung mahinayon ng September 25, so before that, dapat plastado na,” said Archival.

“Aron makita ang diperensya ug unsay yangungo sa mga tawo,” he added.

According to Archival, the route for the dry run will be from SM Seaside to Ayala.

He added that he had already raised concerns about the presence of mendicants occupying the CBRT stretch, but reiterated the city's limitations since the project has not yet been turned over to the local government. With this, he sought assistance from the DOTr to take action against the street dwellers.
