This remark followed earlier comments where Trump acknowledged that his trade measures might cause short-term pain. This stance marks a stark contrast from his first term, when Trump was more responsive to stock market fluctuations. In Monday's selloff, the tech-heavy NASDAQ dropped over 4%, with Tesla—promoted by Elon Musk—losing more than 10%, significantly lower than its peak in December.
