Bharat Tex is set to be India's largest global textile event with 46 MoUs scheduled to be signed during the show including international partnerships.

India's largest global textiles show has line-up of 46 MoUs

The show will have over 22 lakh sq ft exhibition area spread across 2 venues at Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, with participation of buyers from 100 countries and over 100 international speakers, according to Rachna Shah, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. The 4 day event beginning 26 February will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The show comes at a time when Indian textiles exports registered a growth of 1.18 per cent I January 2024 over the previous year while apparel exports registered a degrowth of 3.46 per cent during the same time period. Cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during January 24 have registered a degrowth of 2.29 per cent on year. During April' and 23-January 24, textiles exports registered a growth of 0.15 per cent over the previous year while apparel exports registered a degrowth of 13.14 per cent during the same time. Cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during April 23-January'24 have registered a degrowth of -5.87 per cent as compared to April 22- January 23, according to the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI).
