PAHALGAM ATTACK: PAKISTANI NATIONALS LEAVE INDIA AS TENSIONS ESCALATE

Prime Minister Modi is chairing a series of cabinet meetings in Delhi today to review the security situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a Union Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) for the first time since the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead. Besides this, Mr. Modi also chaired meetings with the Cabinet Committee on Security, defence chiefs and the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.
On Tuesday, affirming that it is India’s “national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism”, Mr. Modi said that the Indian armed forces have his full confidence and “complete operational freedom to decide on the mode, targets and timing” of India's response.
Meanwhile, Pakistan, citing “credible intelligence”, claimed that India was planning to carry out military action against it within the next 24 to 36 hours and warned New Delhi that consequences will follow. Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said the Indian government was preparing to launch an attack on the basis of “baseless and concocted allegations” regarding Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack.
