THERE'S something very strange going on in the quiet village of Penllergaer and no, it's not ghosts, it's scarecrows, and lots of them!

- JOANN RANDLES

More than 25 weird and wonderful scarecrows have popped up across the village as part of Penllergaer's first ever Scarecrowfest and the results are spooky, hilarious, and completely bonkers.

From cowboy farmers and Minions to Welsh warriors and Jeremy Clarkson, the homemade creations have taken over gardens, benches, and hedges, all part of a new village tradition that's taken the locals by storm.

"Everyone decorates really well for Halloween and Christmas so we thought why not give it (scarecrows) a go," said organiser Amy Clark, who launched the event.

"I was really surprised with how many joined in. Hopefully even more next year!"

So many got involved that there's a dedicated scarecrow trail map for anyone brave enough to find them all.

One family tried to make four scarecrows to represent themselves a mum, dad, daughter, and baby.
