Being a champion comes with pain!

We are back to local football following the International break, where we saw several national teams involved in FIFA World Cup qualifiers play-offs, while others played international friendlies. The AFCON is fast approaching, and the players will need all the time they can get to prepare. I’m sure coach Hugo Broos and his technical team will be looking to have the players earlier, with the Betway Premiership schedule running until closer to the tournament itself.

On the Hall of Fame induction

Last week, I was inducted into the South African Hall of Fame with a lot of people who played a significant role in our sport and representing our country. The likes of the late coach Clive Barker, the late Philemon “Chippa” Masinga, Mark Fish, Janine Van Wyk, Aaron Mokoena and Mark Williams were football people I was inducted with. These are people who had a tremendous impact on South African football as they put a lot of smiles on our people's faces. These are some of the people who always gave their all to this country, protecting our flag and ensuring that we keep our country's name in all important football conversations.
