WE VISIT SCUNTHORPE'S NEWEST FAMILY-FRIENDLY ATTRACTION
A young visitor to Discover @20-21 in Scunthorpe, the new free interactive gallery at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre
THE newest family-friendly attraction in Scunthorpe, backed by North Lincolnshire Council, has already achieved a visitor milestone in its first two months of being open.
In just six weeks, Discover@20-21, based in St John's Church as part of the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, saw more than 5,000 visitors.
Discover@20-21 is a new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) interactive gallery. Like the rest of the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, entry is free.
Council leadership has welcomed the 5,000 figure milestone.
"The response has been fantastic," said council leader Cllr Rob Waltham (Conservative Brigg and Wolds Ward).
"It's great to see so many families enjoying the space it's colourful, exciting and completely unique."
Adding to the visitors since this was reached, Scunthorpe Live checked out Discover@20-21.
Below is a summary of what visitors can expect in St John's Church, and background on how the project came about.
The Visual Arts Centre and Discover@20-21 reopens on January 2. It is open 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
