Post Office victims 'still being failed by system'

THOUSANDS of sub-postmasters caught up in the Horizon scandal may be missing out on compensation as they have not been properly notified, a report says.

Only one in five have responded to letters telling them of a shortfall scheme worth as much as tens of thousands of pounds.

Around 18,500 notification letters have been sent out so far, with another 5,000 due later this year.

Unacceptable

But the cross-party Public Accounts Committee of MPs slammed the Government for having no plan to urge those who have not yet applied to come forward.
