Pay deal hailed by staff and bosses

ATWO-YEAR pay deal for Police Scotland has been agreed that will see them receive a four per cent increase this year.

The announcement will also see officers receive a further 3.5% the following year.

Yesterday, the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) said the move would safeguard earnings against rising living costs. The above-inflation pay deal includes a commitment that the pay award will remain at least one per cent above the average Consumer Price Index rate each year.
