Comedian Fred reveals prostate cancer battle

Diagnosis confirmed after tests due to family history

SCOTS star Fred MacAulay has revealed he is suffering from prostate cancer - the third man in his family to get the disease.

The Perth-born comic and presenter has been a vocal advocate for prostate cancer charities, having lost his own father to the disease.

And eight years ago, his brother was diagnosed as well.

Now Fred, 68, has revealed he too has cancer but is determined to stay positive and hopes his speaking up encourages other men to get checked.

Speaking to the Sunday Post, he said he had been getting tested “every couple of years” due to the “prevalence of prostate cancer” in his family.

Fred was examined in the last few weeks and said further tests confirmed he had cancer.
