Muscat could ask McCann to keep seat warm for him

RANGERS target Kevin Muscat could send Neil McCann into Ibrox to keep his managerial seat warm this weekend - as part of a secret agreement first thrashed out between the pair two years ago.

It is believed Muscat planned to recruit his former Ibrox team-mate as his right-hand man back in 2023, when the Aussie was first interviewed for the job but lost out to Philippe Clement.

Before pitching himself to the likes of Graeme Souness during that process, Muscat had drawn up a potential backroom staff with McCann already earmarked for the position of assistant manager.
