Rajasthan thermal power stations set feat in coal unloading sans demurrage

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) has achieved a major operational milestone, with its Suratgarh and Chhabra thermal power stations setting records in continuous unloading of coal rakes without incurring any demurrage charges.

Teams by continuously monitoring the coal unloading, the power stations managed to unload the coal within the stipulated time and gave relief to the state from paying demurrage
According to RVUNL, the 1,500 MW Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Project (6x250 MW) unloaded more than 750 coal rakes without demurrage between September 4, 2025, and May 23, 2026.
Similarly, the 1,000 MW Chhabra Thermal Power Project (4x250 MW) unloaded 521 coal rakes without demurrage between November 2, 2025, and May 23, 2026.
