Four die, 21 ill after meals at funeral feast

Four people died and 21 others took ill with severe diarrhoea and vomiting after having meals at a funeral feast in Sundargarh district, health officials said Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Mangal Sai Naik, 60, and Kiabati Pradhan, 50, from Nuadihi village in Hemgir block of Sundargarh district, and Ullas Khadia, 41, and Sukanti Khadia, 65, from Sunakhaen village under Lakhanpur block in neighbouring Jharsuguda district.
According to officials, the feast was organised Thursday at the residence of one Dilip Naik. People from Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and neighbouring Chhattisgarh attended the gathering.
