Gunshots fired at drone as father and son flouted waste rules

A FATHER and son have avoided jail after admitting to illegally importing, processing and burning waste at two sites in Derbyshire.

Derby Crown Court heard that Keith Mrvik and his son Leon processed waste at sites without having an environmental permit, avoiding substantial permitting and waste disposal charges

The pair admitted importing waste from November 4, 2019, to December 23, 2021, at Draycott House Farm, and from April 25, 2020, to August 12, 2021, at Ayreshire Fields Farm.

The properties were owned by the Mrviks who at the time were involved in skip hire, waste transfer and scrap metal through KLM Skip Hire.

Environment Agency officers visited the sites in 2020 and 2021.
