Badenoch suggests Notts Tory councillors could team up with Reform UK

THE leader of the Conservative Party has suggested the Tories could work with Reform UK to run Nottinghamshire County Council after the local elections.
Kemi Badenoch visited Mansfield on Thursday ahead of local elections being held across the country on May 1.
In Nottinghamshire, the county council is the only authority for which elections will take place this year. The authority is currently controlled by the Conservatives, who won an overall majority in 2021, but Ms Badenoch said she expects this year's polls to be "very challenging".
"We never give up but we know this is going to be very challenging because four years ago we were polling at a high," she said on a visit to Exel Technology Group.
"Now we have just suffered a historic general election defeat. It's going to take time to rebuild trust with the general public."
