64% of kids living in poverty in city's most deprived area

ALMOST two thirds of children are living in poverty in Nottingham's most deprived neighbourhood, new figures released by the Department for Work and Pensions reveal.
In Nottinghamshire, a total of 56,645 children aged up to 15 were living in poverty in the year ending March last year - the last full year under the previous Conservative government - according to the latest figures.
That's up from 54,064 a year earlier and works out as just over a quarter of children (27%) in the county.
But the situation is much more desperate for children in some parts of Nottinghamshire than others.
