Kejriwal says no to alliance for Delhi polls

NEW DELHI: In a significant setback to the Opposition INDIA alliance, Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Chief Minister of Delhi, announced that his party will not form any alliances for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for next year.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Kejriwal made it clear that AAP intends to contest the polls independently.

This statement comes as Delhi's political landscape undergoes a major transformation ahead of the crucial election. Over the past few months, AAP has seen several high-profile defections, with key leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress joining its ranks. However, despite these shifts, Kejriwal ruled out the possibility of an alliance, particularly with Congress, which has been part of the INDIA bloc.
