The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday unveiled its manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections, pledging large-scale employment generation, urban infrastructure expansion, and social welfare schemes across the state.
The 69-page document promises jobs for one crore youth, creation of one crore “Lakhpati Didis”, metro rail services in four cities, and the establishment of seven international airports if the alliance returns to power.
The manifesto was jointly released in Patna at a press conference attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, BJP national president J P Nadda, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jitan Ram Manjhi, LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan, and representatives of other NDA partners.
Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary announced that the alliance aims to create over one crore government jobs and employment opportunities through a combination of direct recruitment and private sector expansion. “A skill census will be conducted to promote skill-based employment,” he said. The manifesto also proposed the establishment of mega skill centres in every district, to be later upgraded into global training hubs.
Under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme, women entrepreneurs will receive up to Rs 2 lakh in financial aid to promote self-reliance. “One crore Lakhpati Didis will be created, and through the Mission Crorepati initiative, identified women entrepreneurs will be supported to become millionaires,” the document stated.
