We couldn't stop them - they were far better

DAVID Moyes conceded Everton deserved nothing from a Newcastle United team that "were much better than us".
The Blues boss said the visitors overpowered his team in a dominant performance that could have ended in a result that was even more chastening than the 4-1 scoreline at full-time.
Eddie Howe's team were ahead within 60 seconds with the first of two headers from defender Malick Thiaw that sandwiched strikes from Lewis Miley and Nick Woltemade.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall pulled one back with a sublime goal but it was no more than a consolation on Everton's worst night since they moved into Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Speaking after the game, Moyes said: "They were much better than us. They played better and were much more physical, much more experienced than we are.
"You can see that Newcastle are learning from their Champions League games.
"When they have to defend they are hard to play against, and they are really quick on the counter attack. We were beaten by the better team, there's no doubt about that."
Moyes bemoaned the manner of the goals Everton conceded, too.
