Tributes paid as accidental Instagram star Geoffrey dies

AN UNLIKELY Instagram star who brought joy to tens of thousands of people by posting videos with his wife has died.

Geoffrey Walker, who was in his 90s, appeared on the social media site with his wife, Pauline, posting pictures and videos from their daily life.

The couple from Thringstone, near Coalville, gathered more than 300,000 followers from all over the world after setting up the account just to help them keep in touch with their children, who had moved away from Leicestershire.

His death was confirmed by the couple's daughter, Julie, in a video on Instagram yesterday.

She said: "Hello, everybody, it's Julie, Geoff's daughter. I'm just here to tell you with a heavy heart that Geoff passed away - my dad passed away - this morning, about half past eight.
