Hallgrimsson relishing the fact Ireland have destiny in own hands after big win

- BY MARK MCCADDEN

HEIMIR HALLGRIMSSON has cranked up the mind-games ahead of tomorrow's crunch World Cup qualifier against Hungary in Budapest.

He reckons Ireland are in a better place psychologically as they are hot on the heels of their hosts, who left Yerevan on Thursday believing their win against Armenia would have been enough to secure a playoff spot.

But, thanks to Ireland's incredible win over Portugal (inset), Hungary still need a point from their final Group F game at home to the Boys in Green. Ireland, on the other hand, need a win to overtake the Magyars and secure second place.
