Silverstone green light for sprint race

- DANIEL MOXON

FAST SHOW

SILVERSTONE will host a Formula One Sprint race next year as bosses consider radical changes to the format.

Having hosted the first ever F1 Sprint back in 2021, the British Grand Prix will be one of six events to feature two races in 2026. That is the same as the current season, though it is understood that figure could double in 2027.

A final number has yet to be decided, though there are currently no plans to host more than 12 Sprints in a 24-event season.
