MICHAEL CARRICK insisted he has “total belief” in Manchester United's squad after taking over as head coach at Old Trafford.

Carrick replaces the sacked Ruben Amorim and will take training today ahead of the Manchester derby on Saturday.

Red Devils chiefs have also made Luis Enrique one of their main targets in the club's search for a permanent manager with Carrick being given a contract until the end of the season. "I know what it takes to succeed here; my focus is now on helping the players to reach the standards that we expect at this incredible club, which we know that this group is more than capable of producing," Carrick said.
