NEET paper leak mastermind arrested in Patna

After months of hunt, the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police in association with Patna police on Friday nabbed Sanjeev Kumar alias Sanjeev Mukhiya alias Lutan Singh, the mastermind behind leak of questions papers of a number of competitive exams, including NEET, from an apartment in Danapur in the state capital, said police.

Additional director general of economic offence unit (EOU) Nayyar Husnain Khan said that Mukhiya, who was absconding for a long time and carried a reward of ₹3-lakh, is wanted in a number of cases, including the NEET question paper leaked that rocked the country last year. "There was specific tip-off that he was staying in an apartment in Danapur and based on that Patna SSP was informed for local assistance and the raid was carried out. He was arrested from there," Khan said.

Khan said that the Mukhiya's name figures in the chargesheet filed by the EOU in two cases related to question paper leak, while he was wanted in three other cases.
