SHE ASKS CITY COUNCIL FOR SOUNDPROOFING AND NOISE MANAGEMENT PLAN AT LICENSING HEARING
A DERBY woman fears her quality of life could be ruined while living above a late-night dessert shop.
Cheat Daze opened in the city centre last Friday in Osmaston Road.
But one of the residents living above the new premises told councillors it had already been “intrusive”
A Derby City Council licensing hearing was held on Tuesday, following an objection to the restaurant's application to sell refreshments in the early hours.
The Derby restaurant near The Spot is the latest branch of the Cheat Daze franchise, with other outlets open across the country.
Cheat Daze was allowed to open its doors to the public on Friday via a temporary licence. This was prior to a decision being made for the granting of a permanent licence.
The restaurant's application to the council requested permission to sell dessert-type food items until 3am every day (including online deliveries) and play recorded music.
The meeting heard there was no intention to play music inside but it ‘was requested should there be a desire to do so in the future.
