Derby's plan of attack was different to what we have come to expect from a John Eustace team but it demonstrated why he is such a shrewd operator.

Usually, they like to press aggressively but here they were content to let Wednesday try to play out from the back.

To the untrained eye, it might have looked as if the Rams were paying their hosts too much respect but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Recognising that Wednesday would have to take risks trying to play through the lines, the odds were that they would surrender possession in dangerous areas.

That's how it proved as the centrebacks struggled to find their passes into midfield, leaving the Rams only one pass away from a goalscoring opportunity.
