ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC should be banned for six months for his push on referee Chris Kavanagh.
That is the view of charity Ref Support UK which has led calls to end the abuse of officials.
They claim such a lengthy ban for the striker, who lost the plot after Fulham teammate Willian was sent off in Sunday's FA Cup defeat by Manchester United, would send a clear message physical confrontation will not be tolerated.
And they have reiterated their fear that unless strong action is taken to set an example a grassroots official will suffer serious injury or worse in copycat behaviour.
