DOMINIC THOMPSON jumped at the chance to work with Stuart Kettlewell at Kilmarnock - after missing out at Motherwell.

- BY MICHAEL BAILLIE

The left-sided defender joined the Steelmen on a short-term deal in January but only played 30 minutes for Kettlewell as he quit as manager two days after Thompson signed.

Thompson took the unexpected departure in his stride as it's not the first time that had happened to him.

When he joined Forest Green Rovers on loan from Blackpool in January 2024, manager Troy Deeney was sacked just four days later.

So when the opportunity came up again to play for Kettlewell, Thompson had no hesitation in joining Kilmarnock in the summer as he knew he was a gaffer who suited his style.
