Lewis basks in Glastonbury glory with surprise show | Emotion as star tells delighted crowds: 'I'm back, baby'

LEWIS Capaldi fought back tears as he wowed festival goers in an emotional "secret" comeback at Glastonbury-just two years after suffering a breakdown on the same stage.

The Scots superstar, 28, was in top form as he performed a brilliant set in the unannounced TBA slot on the Pyramid Stage.

He received a rapturous welcome from the audience who'd heard rumours he would be playing the special spot.

He waved and told them: "The last three years haven't been the best for me. It's been a difficult time. This has been my feeing goal, to get back here doing this."

Yesterday's performance followed an emotional set at Worthy Farm back in June 2023, which led to the singer, 28, taking time off from music to focus on his mental health and to adjust to the impact of a Tourette's diagnosis.

Lewis was met with a deafening roar from the festivalgoers as he took to the stage before the crowd fell silent.

Picking up a guitar, he delivered the opener, a perfect rendition of Before You Go.
