Putin unit ramps up security for tyrant

PARANOID Vladimir Putin has ordered a further strengthening of his elite protection troops, fearing growing unrest over his catastrophic Ukraine war could threaten his security.

The Russian tyrant’s Rosgvardia regiment, which solely protects the presidency and operates outside of the defence ministry, had already been expanded to include tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery in case the military turns on his regime.

Now a new decree has bolstered it further after a string of high-profile assassinations of some of Moscow's senior officers.
