EASTER PARKING PLEA TO AVOID CHAOS

A PARKING plea has been issued to people looking to visit Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) during Easter to avoid chaos.

Visitors have been urged to plan ahead and think about how they will travel, with thousands expected to descend on Wales’ highest peak and Eryri (Snowdonia), over the holiday and bank holiday weekend.

Spaces are already filling up fast at the popular Pen y Pass car park at Yr Wyddfa, for Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday, with the Just Park website reporting partial availability on those days.

It comes as restrictions come into force until November, with people heading to Pen y Pass, having to pre-book parking at £20 for an eight-hour slot. People are being encouraged to use park and ride or other transport to visit the area.

Previous years have seen scenes of chaos, with vehicles overloading the area, leading to major disruption. In 2023, we reported how scores of vehicles were ticketed and towed away in the National Park on Good Friday.
