Presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly discuss the success of their popular ITV1 quiz Limitless Win. By YOLANTHE FAWEHINMI

IT takes a few magic ingredients to create a classic prime time quiz show: cross-generational appeal, high stakes, surprises for the contestants and a huge cash prize.

Ticking all of these boxes is a big reason why presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 50, best known for fronting I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, think Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win has been a hit.

For the fifth series of the ITV1 game show, contestants put their general knowledge to the test and answer questions, with no limit to how much money they could win. But if they give a wrong answer, they risk leaving the competition empty-handed.

“It's about entertaining people, all the family can watch it together, whether you're kids, parents or grandparents, because you can all have a go at the answers,” says Ant.

Dec agrees and adds: “That's what we love doing with our shows. Making shows that will appeal to the whole family across the generations, and get them all on the sofa together, talking and interacting about the answers. It’s also full of emotion, jeopardy and surprises for our contestants.

“And of course, added to all of that, and the cherry on the top, is that you never know when you might just see someone win millions and millions of pounds, it could just happen. You never know.”
