Big gig is 'like a cup final, as he comes back from illness
SIR Rod Stewart took one look at the rider that was drawn up for him for Glastonbury and declared: Do ya think I'm silly?
The 80-year-old singer will play on the Pyramid stage in the coveted Sunday Legends slot on June 29, and says all he will need to keep him happy at the festival are wine and crisps.
Asked about his rider, which sets out an artist's requirements for a gig, he said: “I looked at it the other day and I thought, what is all this s**t doing here?
“All I need is a few bottles of wine and some crisps, and that's it.
“And there's all these bloody things. What am I gonna do with them? No hummus, but big piles of bananas and apples. And when you think the whole world’s bloody starving. I gotta do something about that.”
