Tess and Claud have last waltz

Strictly Come Dancing stars Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are to quit the BBC1 show. The news came as a shock to Strictly fans, as Tess has fronted the glittering dance competition since its inception 21 years ago, initially hosting with Bruce Forsyth before Claudia, 53, stepped in to co-host 11 years ago. You say...

It is disappointing to learn that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are leaving Strictly Come Dancing. They successfully took over the reins from Bruce Forsyth. Their departure should give the BBC the chance to ‘rest’ the programme for a year or two.

The series has felt stale recently. It seems to be classed as a celebrity you have only had to have appeared on a reality show. The other contestants are either actors in their twilight years or totally unheard of people. The BBC should use a break to revamp the show, and create a list of real celebrities.

Harry Wright, Letchworth Garden City, Herts

I was surprised to read that Tess and Claudia have decided to leave Strictly. They have done a fantastic job presenting it and I enjoyed the dynamic between them.

When Bruce Forsyth left, I didn't think the show would be as good because he was such a fabulous presenter. Despite that, the show continued and has done very well.
