Frozen fortune still in UK account, 3 years on
MINISTERS have threatened to sue Roman Abramovich over the £2.5billion he got from selling his former football club Chelsea.
The government wants the frozen asset to be used to support Ukraine after Russia's illegal 2022 invasion.
But Abramovich insists it should help victims of the war on both sides.
The fortune, which still legally belongs to the Russian oligarch, is sitting in a UK bank account and cannot be moved without a licence from the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation.
