Sat nav hell as HGVs get wedged in ancient village lanes

LORRIES are blighting a village by repeatedly getting stuck in its narrow medieval lanes and taking chunks out of its homes.

Residents have started taking photos of the daily chaos caused when sat navs redirect the HGVs through the beauty spot after other routes get congested.

Tensions are so bad that on some days fights almost break out between motorists left waiting for hours behind the jammed lorries.

Villager Sarah Power said traffic outside her Grade II-listed home is often gridlocked as HGVs try to squeeze past one another in Goudhurst, Kent.

The mum of two, in her 40s, says lorries navigating the sharp S-bend not only cause constant damage to her property but also keep her up at night.
