More bobbies on the beat in £100m saving
POLICE and Crime Commissioners will be abolished to save £100million in the biggest shakeup of policing for years.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood yesterday called the Tories’ introduction of PCCs a “failed experiment”.
She said savings will mean more bobbies on the beat “protecting our communities”.
