TAKE UP EXERCISE TO TAKE ON CANCER

SIX incredible women explain why exercise helped them regain confidence and hope as they faced breast cancer.

RUNNING

Danielle McDermott, 42, who lives in Liverpool with her daughter Hollie, 14, was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in November 2018, at the age of 35.

She had a premonition she had breast cancer, so she kept checking her breasts, finding a lump a few months later.

After a mastectomy and chemo, she began running. She says: "I'd always hated it. Now I love it, it's such a buzz. It helps with bone density after chemo."

Debi Piper, 58, of Sale, Greater Manchester, is mum to son Ryan, 32, and daughter, Alana, 30.
