GARDENERS are being asked to keep their enemies closer, and start planting for very hungry caterpillars.

'Love your moth-eaten garden'

The Royal Horticultural Society and the Wildlife Trusts' Wild about Gardens campaign this year is championing moths.

They say the 2,500 species found here are vital pollinators and a food source for other wildlife including birds and bats.

Moths are also an indicator of the overall health of the environment.
