Kaizer Chiefs' Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, has confirmed that Amakhosi will debut their highly anticipated new kit—both home and away—during the much-awaited Toyota Cup clash against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC on Saturday, 26 July 2025 at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
"We will wear our New Jersey, home and away, at the Toyota Cup. So supporters will see our new jersey at the stadium," said Motaung.
This announcement sets the tone for what promises to be a historic day for South African and African football fans, as two of the continent's most storied clubs face off in the second edition of the Toyota Cup a celebration of African football heritage, unity, and pride.
Toyota Cup: A Showcase of African Football Excellence
The Toyota Cup, first launched in 2024, was born out of a vision to bring African clubs together in a prestigious annual fixture. Last year's inaugural edition in Bloemfontein saw Kaizer Chiefs square off against Tanzania's Young Africans SC in a sold-out spectacle that captivated fans across the continent.
This year, the Cup moves to the coast, where Kaizer Chiefs will host Asante Kotoko SC one of Ghana's most decorated football clubs with over 50 official trophies and two CAF Champions League titles. The clash brings renewed energy and continental excitement to Durban, especially as both sides are preparing for their respective CAF Confederation Cup campaigns after lifting their domestic FA Cups.
